Appointments and Tests

How to see a doctor at the surgery

The best way to access medical services is to use our new online system Online Consult.

The form you complete will be reviewed by a clinician and they will advise our receptionists what the next steps should be.  This could be an appointment, a prescription or for another healthcare professional to contact you.

If an appointment is required our receptionists will telephone you back to arrange a time for you to see a clinician.

If the clinician feels you need seen on the same day, this may not be by the doctor of your choice.

The link is available 24 hours a day and the earlier the form is submitted means we can review this as quickly as possible.  We can only review forms during the surgery times below.

Surgery times

There are regular surgeries running throughout the day (Monday – Friday) between 8.30am and 5.30pm. There is a doctor on call for emergencies throughout the day. If you require translation services or a type of procedure which may take longer these would be discussed in advance with Reception. Our office staff are on duty and our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.30am for emergency immediate medical assistance and 8.30am until 6pm for general enquiries. The surgery opens at 8.30am.

Telephone advice from your doctor

On occasion, it may be necessary to request medical advice from the doctors by telephone. If this is required, please complete and online form and ask for a telephone appointment.

Home visits

Patients whose illness prevents them from attending the surgery can be visited at home. If a home visit is necessary, it would greatly assist the doctor if you could make the request before 10am, you do not need to fill out a online consult form to request a home visit. please telephone the surgery so that our receptionists can assist you.

Tests

If you have had a test arranged by the surgery, blood test, x-ray,smear etc , the doctor or nurse will tell you when the result will be available. You may telephone the surgery for the result of the tests between 2pm and 5pm in the afternoon. The doctor will leave word with the reception staff if he/she needs to speak to you about the results.
